Applanix Camera QC Tools™, part of Applanix DG solutions, is a comprehensive software suite designed to ensure the highest level of georeferencing accuracy for image data. It supports both single-head and multi-head camera systems for IMU boresight and camera interior calibration, enabling precise data processing for photogrammetric applications.
Applanix Camera QC Tools
Applanix Camera QC Tools™ are a set of Applanix POSPac® software tools developed by Trimble to achieve the highest level of georeferencing accuracy with image data. These tools support both single-head and multi-head cameras for IMU boresight calibration, featuring single-head and multi-head calibration.
Boresight Calibration and Georeferencing with Camera QC
Boresight angles, also known as misalignment angles, are essential for accurate direct georeferencing results. Applanix Camera QC provides all the necessary functions, features, and reports to enable precise boresight estimation. Once calibrated, accurate direct georeferencing exterior orientation parameters can be exported from Applanix POSPac to be used in photogrammetric software for further image processing (e.g., Orthophoto, DTM/DSM, 3D Modeling, etc.). Additionally, Applanix Camera QC can also estimate camera interior orientation parameters, including PPA and focal length.
Quality Control
Applanix Camera QC can also be used as a quality control tool. To verify ground accuracy, a subset of the image block can be loaded along with a few ground control points (GCPs) or check points (CPs). Applanix Camera QC would then return the RMS values and a detailed quality report that can be used for internal and external purposes. Additionally, it would validate the previously calibrated boresight angles 'on-the-job'.
