Frequently asked questions
Applanix POSPac Assure is a user-friendly web application that generates GNSS-INS real-time quality reports, calibration estimates and a post-processed reference trajectory leveraging the Applanix POSPac Cloud Engine.
Applanix POSPac Assure currently supports processing data collected with Trimble Applanix GNSS-INS Hardware configured for Land and Marine applications (mobile mapping and real-time systems). It does also support the Real-Time QC feature for the air mobility product PX-1.
The duration to receive your results is dependent on the project length, which is typically half the mission time. For example, the results of a 10 minute project can be obtained in about 5 minutes via a download link. However, the delivery may be delayed depending on the volume of concurrent projects in the cloud environment.
Applanix POSPac Assure is designed to provide users with a streamlined and efficient solution for verifying their GNSS-INS integration, real-time performance and post-processed trajectory without the need to install, learn, and use Applanix POSPac MMS. Here are the key reasons you might need Applanix POSPac Assure:
Simplified Verification: If you don't want to install, learn, and use the more comprehensive Applanix POSPac MMS software, POSPac Assure offers a simpler alternative. It allows you to verify your GNSS-INS integration and calibrate parameters (i.e. GNSS Lever Arm, GAMS) easily and quickly, plus can create a post-processed trajectory.
Easy Performance Verification: Applanix POSPac Assure provides an easy-to-use tool to verify the real-time performance of your system. This can be crucial for ensuring that your GNSS-INS integration is working as expected in live scenarios.
Ground Truth Reference: Applanix POSPac Assure can generate a post-processed GNSS/INS trajectory leveraging different processing modes (e.g. Single Base, PP-RTX) which may serve as a reference trajectory for performance analysis.
In Real Time QC Mode: You’ll receive a report (PDF) with plots about Real-Time performance/quality along with extract log files, a vehicle navigation real-time trajectory file and a KML/KMZ file.
In Calibration Mode: You’ll receive a report (PDF) that includes calibrated GNSS, GAMS and DMI lever arm parameter, estimated DMI scale factor, misalignment between IMU and Vehicle frame along with extraction log files, processing log files, a vehicle navigation real-time trajectory file and a KML/KMZ file.
Ground Truth: You’ll receive a report (PDF) with plots about Real-Time and post-processed SBET performance/quality. The delivery also includes the SBET file, an ASCII trajectory file and a KML/KMZ file, along with log files from data extraction and post-processing.
No, this is not the purpose of POSPac Assure. It is not designed to replace the full production environment and flexibility of POSPac Desktop. It serves the purpose of GNSS-INS integration checks, real-time performance checks and casual SBET trajectory reference creation. Users who want to streamline and automate GNSS-INS processing can either use the batch command line functionality from POSPac MMS or integrate POSPac Cloud.

No, there are various other processing modes such as PP-RTX 2 which don’t rely on an uploaded user base station file.
Yes, base station data can be uploaded in either Rinex format or Trimble T02 format. The coordinates of the base station can be surveyed automatically by using the function “RTX Base Position.”
Yes, previous processed projects are accessible under your account/projects and will be deleted after 30 days.
The “Basic” subscription supports the Real-Time QC and Calibration service, while the “Professional” subscription adds the “Ground Truth” service to generate a post-processed trajectory (SBET).
It is a monthly subscription.
A token translates into a mission and grants one mission load into POSPac Assure, independent of the mission length. One mission is one log of consecutive GNSS/INS data without data gaps.
The “Add-on” package is a one time purchase and adds tokens (1 token = 1 Mission) to your POSPac Assure account. The monthly subscriptions (Basic or Professional) support 10 tokens. If more tokens are needed on a monthly basis, the user can purchase the “Add-on” package(s). Tokens from the “Add-on” package(s) will only expire after 12 months.
Yes. They are discounted if multiple packages are purchased.
No, re-running the same data through POSPac Assure a second time is not chargeable, hence no token reduction is applied.
They will be deleted at the subscription default renewal period (monthly). Tokens from the “Add-on” plan remain in the pool for 12 months.
Yes, both routes are supported. While the upgrade can be applied immediately, the downgrade will only be possible at the end of the Professional subscription cycle (end of the applicable month).
The unused basic tokens will be converted into professional tokens. Since the value of the basic tokens are not identical to the value of the professional tokens, the number of professional tokens will be less, but still match the value paid for.
Yes, there is a comprehensive tutorial available for your reference.
