White paper: High accuracy direct georeferencing of the Altum multi-spectral UAV camera and its application to high throughput plant phenotyping

This paper details the integration of a MicaSense Altum multi-spectral camera with a Trimble® APX-15-EI Direct Georeferencing (DG) solution on a UAV. This combination enables high-accuracy mapping for applications like plant phenotyping without GCPs. Flight tests achieved 3-6 cm horizontal accuracy, allowing pre-surveyed plot boundaries to be overlaid on the orthomosaic within a few pixels for efficient, repeatable analysis.
